I know it’s stupid. I know it’s childish and nerdy but…

This cracks me up.

Just about every day,  I check the Dilbert [1] cartoon.

If you are not already in the habit of doing so, I highly recommend checking Dilbert out daily. Scott Adams has a real gift for pinpointing (and mocking) all the annoying little things about life in a corporate cube farm as well as the denizens thereof.

wifi(Wife vs Wifi!)

Brilliant.

If any of you out there are involved with or interested in the wild, wacky world of Cosplay

Linda-Le-01

then you may be familiar with a young lady by the name of Linda Le.

vampy-1

You may probably know this tiny terror by her nickname Vampy.

batgirl-mix

She is short, sweet, a bundle of energy, GORGEOUS…

Punisher

…and has a wonderfully charming playfulness about her.

02b

Whether she is dressed as a superhero, super villain, or a character from Japanese manga or anime…

Psylocke-1

She always gives it her all.

This video clip from The Nerdist Channel shows Linda Le (among others) interviewing Cosplayers at Just Cos – New York Comic Con 2012! [1]

le-and-lee(Le and Lee – Linda with Marvel Comics’ Stan Lee)

No matter what she does, she always impresses me with her energy and enthusiasm.

Linda-Le-07

Well done, Linda. Please keep going!

[1] The clip is hysterical because they are interviewing people who have the cheapest costumes knocked off with the least amount of effort. I particularly enjoy the Duct Tape Tie guy (at 3:35) who keeps going on about how it was his Mom’s fault that he had a duct tape tie.

Ever heard or seen nerd humour?

Let me give you an example…

Or how about some literary nerd humour…

How about this version?

You either get them or you don’t.

Explaining a joke is like dissecting a frog. You can open it up, analyze it and figure out exactly what makes it tick…

But the frog rarely survives the process.

I think one of the things I love most about nerd humour is that there is a certain amount of elitism involved with it.

It’s the ultimate “in” joke because you know only about 6% of the population truly “gets” it.

So lighten up, get in touch with your inner nerd… and have a good snorty chuckle.
